Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt Greek or regular
  • ¾ cup pumpkin puree canned or homemade
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon adjusted to taste
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon ground ginger dried
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup or to preference

Equipment

  • 1 Small Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups & Spoons (1 cup, 1/2 tsp)
  • 1 Flexible Spatula
  • 1 Baking Sheet (for chips)
  • Oven or Toaster Oven

Method

  1. Prepare Your Base: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, spoon in the plain yogurt and pumpkin puree. Use a whisk or spatula to blend them until you achieve a smooth, uniform texture.
  2. Add Spices and Flavor: Sprinkle in the cinnamon and ground ginger, followed by the vanilla extract. Stir thoroughly to distribute the spices evenly throughout the dip.
  3. Sweeten to Taste: Pour in the maple syrup gradually, mixing well after each addition. Taste the dip and adjust the cinnamon, ginger, or sweetness as desired to suit your palate.
  4. Chill and Serve: For best flavor, cover the bowl and refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to allow the spices to meld. Serve chilled with cinnamon sugar tortilla chips or your favorite dippers like graham crackers.
  5. Optional: Make Cinnamon Sugar Chips Cut whole wheat tortillas into triangles. Lightly brush or spray with oil or melted butter, sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar, then bake on a baking sheet at 350°F (175°C) for about 12 minutes. Flip once halfway through baking for even crispness.

Notes

  • For a quicker option, start with vanilla-flavored yogurt and omit the vanilla extract and maple syrup to reduce prep time without sacrificing flavor.
  • Use Greek yogurt for a thicker, protein-packed dip, or regular yogurt for a lighter texture.
  • Adjust the spices according to your taste—more cinnamon for warmth or extra ginger for a subtle kick.
  • The cinnamon sugar tortilla chips add a delightful crunch but the dip is equally delicious with fresh fruit or simple crackers.
